About Haritha Villa
“Haritha” is a private, serene retreat, sitting on an acre of lush hillside on Eagles Ridge, within the Victoria Golf and Country Club. Nestled under a canopy of trees, Haritha is thoughtfully integrated into its natural surroundings with spectacular views of Victoria Lake and Dam.
Designed over five cascading levels and featuring steel, wood, and glass which showcase the panoramic views all around. At the heart is a striking double height living and dining area with an open-plan kitchen. There are two spacious outdoor balconies perfect for relaxing or entertaining. It is a place of peace and tranquillity!
The villa comfortably accommodates up to 12 guests, with a master suite on the top floor and five additional bedrooms, all equipped with air conditioning and fans. There are three ensuite bathrooms, plus a Jack-and-Jill bathroom.
Haritha Villa is managed by Kanishka and a dedicated team who will take care of your every need. Whether you want to unwind completely, explore the local area, or a grocery run, the house staff are there to assist. The villa has its own Tuk Tuk for trips to the Golf Club or nearby village.
While we suggest bringing your own wine and spirits, there’s a well-stocked bottle shop in town, and the local beer comes highly recommended!
**Rates are quoted on a bed and breakfast basis, but lunch and dinner can be arranged either in-house or through the Golf Club’s restaurant.
** An additional accommodation at nearby villas or the Golf Club chalets can be arranged for larger groups.

The Club
The Victoria Golf and Country Club is a 5 minute walk from the Villa and built around a Troon golf course which is picturesque and challenging and a golfer’s paradise!!! All residents can play and green fees can be seen on their website. You will get a caddy and a “ball spotter” and buggies are also available. You rarely need to book and mid-week you can often get the course to yourself – we call it millionaire’s golf! The pro is available for lessons and for children can give them lessons at the driving range or on the course. Again, very reasonable rates.
There is also a restaurant with a fairly extensive menu that covers breakfast, lunch and dinner all at very realistic prices. They can even do take aways if you prefer to eat at home.
Within the Club’s grounds there is also a large swimming pool, a grass tennis court, massage facility, biking, canoeing and horse riding – Kanishka can help you with any arrangements.
Explore the Region
- Kandy (45 minutes) - Discover the historic Temple of the Tooth, explore the stunning Royal Botanical Gardens, and stroll through a traditional spice garden.
- Sigiriya & Dambulla (2 hours) - Climb the iconic Sigiriya Rock Fortress, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, and visit the nearby Dambulla Cave Temple, famed for its ancient murals and statues.
- Nuwara Eliya (2 hours) - Visit Sri Lanka’s picturesque highlands, where tea plantations established by Scottish planters in the 1850s stretch across the hills. Walk the tea trails and tour a working tea factory to see how the world’s finest Ceylon tea is made.
- Kitulgala (2 hours) - Enjoy an adrenaline-filled day of white-water rafting on the river where The Bridge on the River Kwai was filmed. A must for adventure lovers.
- Ashburnham Tea Estate (1 hour) - Take a guided tour of this charming local tea estate, followed by a home-cooked curry lunch at the plantation bungalow. End the day with a refreshing swim in their private waterfall pool.
- Pinnawala Elephant Orphanage (2 hours) - Watch rescued elephants’ parade through the village on their way to the river for their daily bath, a unique opportunity to see these gentle giants up close.

Options for travel
Train from Colombo to Kandy or Kandy to Colombo is very affordable and convenient. It takes around 3 hours and 1st class cabins are also available.
This can allow you a day in Colombo which is also much closer to the airport
For a truly unforgettable start to your stay, consider arriving by seaplane with Cinnamon Air. It’s not only a fast and scenic way to see the country, but also a unique experience in itself. Flights depart from Colombo or Bandaranaike International Airport in Negombo, and if you charter the entire plane, it can land directly on Victoria Lake, just steps from the villa.
